Cookie Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files saved on the user’s device when visiting a website. They help the site function correctly, remember user preferences, or in some cases, collect statistical or profiling information.
Under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and applicable national laws, users have the right to be informed about cookie usage and to give or withhold consent, except for cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the service.
2. Cookies Used by Nexalarm
Nexalarm uses exclusively strictly necessary technical cookies required for the operation of the service. We do not use profiling cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytical cookies.
This policy covers the nexalarm.it website and the app.nexalarm.it application.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Technical — Necessary | Authenticated session managed by Supabase Auth (JWT access token + refresh token, split into numbered chunks) | Session / 1 hour (access); until revoked (refresh) |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Technical — Preferences | Stores the language selected by the user in the application | 1 year |
| nf_lang | Technical — Preferences | Stores the language chosen on the nexalarm.it website, so later visits open in the same language | 1 year |
3. Strictly Necessary Technical Cookies
Strictly necessary technical cookies do not require user consent as they are essential for delivering the requested service. Without these cookies, core features — such as login, authenticated navigation, and security protection — would not be available.
These cookies do not collect information that could be used for marketing purposes and do not retain user information beyond the current session.
4. localStorage (not cookies)
In addition to cookies, the application uses browser localStorage to store user interface preferences (e.g. light/dark theme). This information is not transmitted to the server and remains exclusively on the user’s device.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Nexalarm does not install or use third-party cookies for profiling, analytics, or advertising (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or tracking networks).
The service uses Supabase Auth for authentication management. Supabase installs strictly necessary technical cookies (prefix sb-*-auth-token) to maintain the user’s session; these cookies are documented in the table in § 2 and are not used for tracking purposes.
6. How to Manage or Disable Cookies
Users can manage or disable cookies through their browser settings. Please note that disabling necessary technical cookies will prevent use of the service.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
